Strange Things that could count as Research I'm currently sat at my desk with my Bokken [*] tucked through my belt. It'd put it there to nip downstairs - I do sometimes, just because. And I decided not to take it out when I sat down. [*] Japanese wooden training weapon. Shaped like a Katana. It's rather amusing. It means I've got to sit closer to one side of my chair that the other, and the end still keeps poking my other desk. Though I guess it's kind of useful to think about, really. I mean, because I like swords & stuff, it's quite likeky that I'd want to have a sword-weidling character in a story one day. And I'm very likely to not bother putting them in a Historical Setting. But although there are lots of references available for what it's like carrying a weapon, there's not really that much available about doing so in contemporary times. So the only way to really find out, is to wear a sword (or sword-line object) on my belt. *grin* =^.^=
