Online Banking:
All the convenience of regular banking, and less!
Welcome to the Information Age. Everything you can do by phone, by post, or face to face, we can now allow you to do over the Internet. It's safe, secure, and fast.
Unless of course you're in a hurry and forgot your details.
I know that Online banking
has to be secure. And that they need to make sure that only the right person has access to account details. But still, some things are faster to do in the good old offline way. I needed to get my
Halifax Online account details reset, as I'd got locked out ages ago and not used them since.
They're sending me a new Access Code.
By post!
In late December.
And the Halifax
always send their stuff by Second Class. So the chance of my getting access to my account over the Net before 2002 is rather slim - to say the least!
What's wrong with e-mail? That's what I need to know. After all, even if posted
First Class (next-day delivery) it's still taking too long for an Internet-related situation. After all, I could get on the bus, go into town, go to a branch or cashpoint, or even use the
Phone Banking service faster than it'd take for the code to arrive by post.
So much for Internet Banking!
Oh, I'll use it. But, right now, it's not exactly got
any of the convenience I need for an online banking service.
New Rant Engine
Well, I've switched to
Blogger for my Rants. This should make things easier. My previous archive of (wow!)
5-ish posts will remain up for the time being. And when I've clocked a good few rants in this service, I'll use my old Archive page to place the older Blog posts.
